It's been nearly two months since this journey began and it's all come down to this. How fitting that the final test would be waged on a blustery, rainy day in New York City. 2 battle-tested competitors from opposite coasts have converged onto Nike Sportswear at 21 Mercer Street to put their skills to the ultimate test. Sure they can design a NIKEiD shoe on the computer, when options are only click away, but how would they fare at the ultimate test of their design abilities- NIKEiD Bespoke?
Aided by the expert NIKEiD Bespoke Design Consultants who were armed with swatches and sample shoes, the competitors had 60 minutes to design a NIKEiD Bespoke Air Force 1 that was inspired by their favorite baseball team or the team that represented their hometown. Neither side had previously experienced anything like NIKEiD Bespoke and it clearly took some adjustment. The seasoned expertise of both sides quickly overcame any nerves and the design session was furious.
NIKEiD Royale was the climax of a full day celebration of baseball at 21 Mercer Street. Nike Sportswear decided to celebrate the coming of spring and return of both the Mets and Yankees to New York City this week by bringing the best parts of baseball inside the store. That means there were hot dogs, beer, popcorn, peanuts, good music and a special art project by local NYC baseball fanatics No Mas. The No Mas team spent the afternoon installing their piece and encouraging visiting guests and fans to add their own touch to the piece as it went up. Be sure to stop into the store over the next week to add your own touch of baseball love to the No Mas Wall of Fame.
Don't forget to vote for the winner of the NIKEiD Royale before Wednesday, April 15. Who will win is up to you!

Legendary Yankees fan Freddy showed up to kick of the baseball-themed NIKEiD Royale Final.
And posed for photos with some fans.
Longtime Yankees fan and NIKEiD Royale host Boobie Smooth talks baseball and clanging frying pans with Freddy.
But soon enough it was down to business and the trash talking began...
The pre-match stare down. Tavoh from the west coast on the left. Grindhouse from the east coast on the right. A strange promoter who is maybe best described as Don Kings of Leon hypes them up in the center.
The stage was set for a NIKEiD Bespoke battle. No computers, only design consultants, swatches, samples and sheer will would guide these designs.
Boobie Smooth asked the tough questions before the battle began.
Signs of tension on the Grindhouse side?
Tavoh was cool as ice.

The post game photo op outside on Mercer Street. Both finalists were from the street and it will be the streets who decide which coast will be victorious.
