Returning from the unknown reaches of infinite space...Ancient Astronauts has touched down broadcasting love, music and knowledge discovered on the journey through the musical cosmos. Released early this year, Astronaut’s sophomore album, “Into Bass and Time” is sonic fusion of hard driving hip-hop, funky breakbeat and late night smoker trip-hop. Ironically not from Japan, nor spending much time enforcing law, Toronto’s Tokyo Police Club made their sophomore debut in 2010 with the release of “Champ.” Since remixed by the Brooklyn gentlemen of PUNCHES, “Champ” has taken on a disco-y, impossible-to-resist funkjam feel.
