Dungey Wins Again
25 January 2010
Ryan Dungey has left the Supercross world scratching its head once again. Nobody can comprehend how this rookie is doing it weekend after weekend, but we've got an idea - the perfect balance of skill, smarts and pure speed. For the third time in as many races Dungey finds himself on the podium, and for the second time in a row Ryan walks away with the win.
The Belle Plaine, Minn native left it for late at Anaheim 2, but on the 14th lap Dungey gunned it to move from 2nd to 1st, and he never looked back. With the win, Ryan extends his points lead to 15 over the second-place rider on the night, Josh Hill.
“It was a fun race, and we all raced clean,” said Dungey. “I was able to see what lines were working out there, so I learned through the race. I tried to be patient out there tonight. Racing 20 laps is a long time, so you have to be smart.”
James Stewart showed he had recovered from his bad spill last weekend, as the defending champion spent the entire race battling for first. In the end, James finished third, but add that to his first-place finish in Anaheim two weeks ago and you can see a fun battle developing between Ryan and James.
What do you think - who's going to win next weekend? And, more importantly, who do you think is going to take the overall title in Vegas?
