Ryan Tops Podium in Phoenix

If there were any questions about Ryan Dungey's sensational start to the season at Anaheim 1, the Nike 6.0 moto man answered them emphatically in Phoenix. In the second race of the year, Ryan lead every lap on his way to his first-ever AMA 450cc Supercross victory - not to mention the points lead. Unfortunately, James Stewart did not fare so well, as the defending champ was involved in a nasty crash during qualifying and tangled with rival Chad Reed during the main event. James was able to battle through obvious pain and soldiered on to a 15th-place finish.

“I’m just pumped on the nice performance,” said Ryan. “This is a big step in my career. I owe a lot of thanks to all the people supporting me. I’m glad to get this out of the way and I’ll never forget it. It’s early in the season and last week was tough. James was on it and I hope he’s ok. It’s just great to come out with a win here in round two.”

With big wins, big crashes and a shot at the 2010 AMA Supercross title on the line, this year looks set to deliver some heart-pounding action.

Two races down and two Nike 6.0 winners. Here's to round three in Anaheim.
