Although suffering from a lack of swell for much of event, Charly managed to grab the best 2 waves of the finals if not the entire contest giving him 2 scored waves of an 8.5 and 8.83, a combined total of 17.33 and a winning margin of 3.83. This result was even more remarkable for Charly as he almost missed the final due to him getting down to some tunes with his friend on the car stereo.

With an eye on the ASP World Junior series held in Bali and Australia, Charly is now focused on doing well at the final two remaining ASP sanctioned Pro junior events - Gran Canaria and Lacanau where a good placing will guarantee him a spot.

"It was the best waves actually that I have surfed here at Sopelana and I am stoked to win in my first pro junior of the year and I hope to keep it going in the rest of the series."
Stay posted for more Charly updates from the Roundhouse.
