Golfing 9 Holes
Golfing 9 HolesCATEGORY: diary / by Brittany.JC / June 19, 2008 / 10:30 AM-
The forecast called for rain, but that didn't stop us! My brother, two of his friends and I were determined to play golf, even if we did get a little soaked doing it!
After learning the basic skills in my golf lessons, I thought it was time to get out on a course. I was excited and nervous at the first hole. I was playing with three men in their 30's. Could I hit the ball as far as them? Would I get left in the dust? At the first hole I kept my arms straight, kept my head down, and followed through. It was a great hit and thanks to my competitive nature, I was able to keep up with the guys. They even gave me compliments on my pitching.
No matter how hard I tried, my ball almost always ended up in the hazards. I am now a pro at getting myself out of sand traps! Other than that the only other obstacle I faced was the rain! It started to come down pretty hard at one point, and that made it harder to make a good connection. Still at the end of the day, I feel a lot more confident about my golf game. I have been doing the SPARQ exercises that focus on developing a strong core. These are the same muscles I use for my golf swing and as my core gets stronger, my swing gets better. I can't wait to keep playing through the summer and see how my game improves. Up next…18 holes!
