The Monika Bag

Nike Director of Design Frank Brown has simplified my life. Until a few weeks ago I was walking around the city of Chicago, hauling my life around, in a bag that couldn't fit half of it.

I'd stuff my laptop, power cord,Ipod, lunch, gym clothes, Nike Sister One's and an outfit to wear to dinner with friends, all in a tiny bag. The worst part was not the surplus of items but the lack of compartments to put them.

My work notes always ended up soggy from my swim cap and my jeans, to wear post workout, always sported a hint of sweaty gym socks. Not appetizing.

Once Frank Brown entered my life, things were much more organized. Frank is the man behind the concept and design of the new Nike Monika Bag. A bag that not only fits my excessive belongings, that accompany me on a daily basis, but allows me to look good while carrying them.

Forget about choosing function over style, Frank wouldn't do that to you or I. The Monika Bag comes in an array of colors and pays homage to style with metal hardware accents and leather handles.

What is most exciting is what one finds within. A compartment for work, or school for some, keeps my notes and laptop safe from the frightening smells and moisture levels of my gym clothes. A removable wet/dry bag houses my suit, cap and goggles on swimming days and my favorite feature, a bungee cord, atop the bag, keeps my yoga mat securely in place.

The man has thought of it all. What more could you ask for in a bag?

Now if only there were an outfit we could wear to work, the gym and out with friends. The man who invents that, I'm marrying.
