Deep inside the Mia Hamm building lays a secret lair unseen by the public's eye. It houses Nike's most creative geniuses of shoe design.It's a space where innovation and ingenuity hangs in the air. It's a space so secretive only a percentage of Nike employees are allowed access.

As I passed through the frosted glass doors that read;Restricted Access, I felt like Charlie entering the Chocolate Factory. Inside Nike's Oompa Loompas busily developed imaginative designs and groundbreaking technologies.

There I met Willy Wonka, better known at Nike as Robert Dolan, Director of Design behind the new Nike+ Sister One.

Inside his office I was greeted with an explosion of color. An organized chaos of doodles,3D digital drawings and of course shoes. A habitat only an artistic mastermind would thrive.

It was a day of excitement and exclusivity. A day I learned about the process of making Nike candy. From conception in the Kitchen to production to the moment you walk away with the sweet treat on your feet.
