24th October 2009. The time is 6am and it’s absolutely POURING with rain! With 3 and a half hours until the start of the Grazia and Nike+ Human Race 10k in Victoria Park, the doubts start creeping into my mind - ”Oh it’s raining… it’s too cold to run… I think I’ve got a cold coming on…” But then I realise I am being a wimp and that I can’t let down the 20 girls from my uni (King’s College London) who I’d got to run with me.
