It couldn’t have been better for the Brazilians. The men's and women’s teams each won the highest podium place in the Homeless World Cup last Sunday, for the first time.
Known in Brazil as the Social Football World Championship, this is the first time the competition takes place here, and with decisive victories in the finals. The men’s team steamrolled Chile with a 6 to 0 victory, while the women's team beat Mexico 7 to 3.
