Cesc Fabregas: Total Control

At the heart of the game stands the playmaker. The one whose first touch is already the start of the second. Who creates space out of chaos. Who sees runs no-one else sees or imagines. The one to whom precision is the norm and the spectacular expected. The one the other players look back to when their shot hits the net.

Watch Cesc take total control.
Three Years In The Making

Gathered in Miami for a short training camp before heading to Honduras, the USMNT is putting the final touches on a game plan that has been in works for more than three years: qualify for South Africa.

After taking on Honduras this Saturday, the team returns to home soil in Washington, DC, to face Costa Rica on October 14. A win in either game means qualification for the finals, but before the party begins, preparation is paramount.

MNT fitness coach Barrieu runs the players through a myriad of drills in order to get their bodies in shape and minds focused for hostile games in sweltering conditions. In the video above, Charlie Davies and Michael Bradley help him demonstrate the Back Peddle Bounce.
Wayne Rooney’s 100th Goal for Manchester United

Sometimes a team needs a savior, but they always need a difference maker. This year as Manchester United deals with the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo to Spain and a heartbreaking early loss, Wayne Rooney is set to be both.

<strike>p-17343</strike> the difference for him this year is scoring more goals. Rooney began his tally early this season and continued his strong start this past weekend, scoring his 100th and 101st goals for Manchester United.

No longer the teen phenom, the century mark launches the hulking striker, still just 23, into the record books along side the all time top 20 goal scorers for his historic club. By the end of the season, we could be talking top 15. Rooney needs 21 more goals to reach that mark, and in a season where he is expecting to carry the load, that’s a difference he very well could make.

Get faster to the ball. Move faster with the ball.

The Superfly features a dual density stud system that shaves every last ounce of unnecessary material from your boot, so you can shave seconds off your running time. If you’re cutting sideways, or ploughing straight towards goal, the Superfly traction pattern gives you the support to stay standing while your opponents fall around you.
Flywire: the Superfly’s secret weapon

You wouldn’t buy a sports car and pack the boot with lead. The same goes for a football boot. Modelled on the most economical of support structures, the Mercurial Superfly’s new Flywire design system is as efficient at load-bearing as the suspension bridge that inspired it.

With the lightest, strongest ever material between your feet and the ball, the featherweight Superfly combines killer touch with match-winning speed. Great news for forwards, terrible news for defenders.

The Superfly: a hat-trick of innovations

Look out defenders, Mercurial Superfly is coming. And it’s fast. The fastest boot in football is built on three key innovations.

Flywire technology provides the greatest stability from the lightest materials. Ultra-efficient dual density studs, give total traction at defence-beating speeds. And a revolutionary 7-layer carbon-fibre outsole mixes speed, strength and flexibility to help you get behind any back four.

The developers behind the Superfly overhauled every inch of its design to give Nike players the weapon they need to strike the killer blow come match day. And because our products always start with the player, it was input from the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Didier Drogba, Alexandre Pato and Theo Walcott that made the Superfly the boot it is today.

Press ‘Play’ to see it in all its turf-burning glory.
Waiting. And waiting. And waiting.

And then finally, after 419 days, 2 hours and 23 minutes, Brazil’s Ronaldo ended his epic struggle, tearing free from the shackles of injury and rising high to head home his first goal for Corinthians.

Zlatan gets Wired for Speed

With Inter Milan’s crunch encounter with Manchester United just days away, Zlatan Ibrahimovic got the training ground delivery he’d been waiting for – and the one that United’s defenders had been dreading. To the untrained eye, it may look like an ordinary boot, but hidden beneath that prototype black paint job is the fastest footwear known to man: the Mercurial Superfly.

Press play to see the boot’s journey from the finest raw materials all the way to the feet of the world’s fastest players.
When two soccer superpowers like Brazil and Italy go head-to-head you can guarantee it’s going to be entertaining. It’s going to be beautiful. It’s going to be brilliant. But one thing it will never be is friendly. Watch as Ronaldinho, Robinho and Pato orchestrate some devastating attacks against the defending world champs.
Strike with the Toe Punt

When there’s no time to set yourself for a shot, you need to strike with speed. Use the Toe Punt to crash the ball past the keeper without warning. Reinforced toe bumpers give your shot more power while protecting your foot. And a new toe texture increases friction on the ball, giving swerve to your shot.
