He might be all about basketball, but that's not the only thing on Kobe's mind.
Last night Los Angeles's most famous athlete tied on RED shoe laces, helping his other favorite sport, soccer, raise awareness and funds to fight the global AIDS pandemic through Nike Soccer's Lace Up Save Lives. The shoes and laces will be auctioned off with all the proceeds benefiting RED.
A longtime fan of the world's game from having spent part of his childhood in Italy, where his father played professional basketball, one has to wonder what kind of player he would be on the soccer field.
While soccer fans dream of that idea, on the court last night Kobe posted 18 points, 4 assists, and 2 steals, and only played 33 minutes. Once their 7th consecutive victory was in the bag, the LA superstar received some much needed rest. It's early in the season, and Kobe has big plans.
