this is a bit vague...I would hope for a more detailed description of this new product. Do you still need Nike+ shoes and shoe insert? How do the current Nike+ devices interface with this IPhone App? Decent looking app, would be nice to incorporate the shoe portion as well in the app, for added sync-up. In my opinion, this is what should be on the iPhone, and should have been a free upgrade, I have spent enough to still be able to use the gear I bought. Glad to see this, but I wish it still had the sensor in the shoes because I like resting my iPod on the treadmill and run the sounds through the speakers on the treadmill. Now i have to wear my iPod on my arm at all times if i want this new app to work. Overall it looks like a good improvement but I think there are some things that could still be built into this app.

Can you listen to music while using this. My daughters have last years model and they are not able to listen to music while using the nike + app. Also, do you have to buy anything other than the app to use this technology. I know Nike has that sensor for your shoe?

This should be free. Plain and simple it is a branding device meant to promote your sporting goods and apparel. Distribution costs are near nothing. I am sure the app drives users to your website where they are subjected to more branding and directed advertising. This is a + + + for Nike. The least you can do is offer it for free.

This is a great app, everything that we have been waiting for with the Nike+ app. But, I am a treadmill user for 90% of my workouts and I don't hold my iPod while using the treadmill. So it would be nice to be able to select if you want to use the accelerometer or your sensor for the run!

My first walk using the gps it's accurate with the
mile markers on the trail and my minutes, only
one thing I do not understand the gps calories
reading is not the same as the sensors cal.

The Nike+ sucks on the iPhone. I have never had so many issues using this application on my iPod. It freezes during my runs not giving me a total run length. If I pause the run it will not resume. Hopefully the GPS app will not have the same issues.

I love this device. No more sensor, no additional
attachments. Used it for the first time yesterday
and thrilled with results. Details of my run. The
pace of each mile, the exact course of where I
ran. Which mile was my fastest and slowest. It will
really help me improve and challenge myself. This

Please keep the mileage counter active continuously. Now it pauses if you stop for a minute or so as you often do while hiking. Very not useful for measuring hiking stats.

Nice upgrade, but it should have been free to us
existing users who have been with you from the
start paying $30 a pop for the in shoe computer.

The good news you get me back from ImapMyrun
to test this app, your run data is better, strong
graphics. The bad news is, now I have two Nike
apps taking up space on my Iphone4 to map my
runs. Hopefully you will consolidate in the future.

I am going to buy it all I can say is it better add my
new runs to my existing runs in my current Nike+
acct.

Does not seem to record distance accurately. The
same distance ran with the chip catalogs as less
distance with the GPS app. Also, the nike+ watch
remote does not work with this app which was
disappointing. I do find the pace recording helpful
as it helps me recognize slow spots.

How do the current Nike+ devices interface with this iPhone App? Can you use the nike+ipod app that came on the iphone 3gs with the gps? If you chooses to run on a treadmill and want to use the basic ipod app and sensor, will that run show up separately on the website from runs that you use GPS with? I'm assuming the runs won't show up on both unless you are using both apps simultaneously, but is that possible? More detail would have been nice in this description.

Having bought the Nike+ sensor and shoes, I do
feel a bit betrayed that they would charge me
again for an upgrade.

Charge a fee for new users, but those that already
invested should get this app for free - especially
since iOS4 broke it. I got it working most of the
time, but if I pause (at a stoplight) for too long, it
stops listening to the sensor and I only record part
of my run.

C'mon Nike...help us out here. $1.99 credit per
sensor ID? Is that too much?

I've used it a couple times on wide open paths (no buildings, trees, or any other obstructions). It starts out by saying I have a weak GPS signal. Then on an out and back run with mile markers the same exact distances were reported differently. One mile was reported as 0.92 mi and the same exact mile going the other way was reported as 0.95 mi. Another distance was reported 0.88 and 0.75 in opposite directions. The pace reporting was worse. Maybe my 3g's GPS is less capable than the 4's?

The new gps app is great. The one thing I would really like to see is for the Nike+ polar wearlink heart monitor to work with it. Seems like it should both are nike+ apps. If you have most of the code from the nano, it shouldn't be hard to add. I would even pay for the functionality with an in app purchase. For all those complaining about the app costing $2, growup... It is well worth it and it takes more effort to complain about it then it does to shell out the $2.

Det virker ikke :( jeg har tjekket flere forum og jeg er ikke den eneste der ikke kan synkronisere med NIke+ hjemmesiden og den siger også at min rute ikke kan findes fordi GPS-signalet er for svagt - jeg bor i KBH!!! I was going to buy a Garmin GPS watch for my
birthday so I could pace my runs. But decided to
try the Nike+GPS App for two bucks just to see
what it was like. I had been using the Nike+
sensor on my iPod for a long time. The GPS app
worked great! My first run was off on distance and
I had to recalibrate before my next run. After
calibration, it is very accurate, within 10 feet of
measured mile. I have set it to give me my pace
every 1/4 mi. and it keeps me on target. Excellent
buy.

I have iPod Touch with integration GPS (Magellan ToughCase). Though many other GPS Apps work on this configuration, the Nike+GPS ..GPS features do not work.

Works as advertised. The sport band and accelerometer appear to be more accurate as the app doesn't take elevations, pothole dodges and corner cuts into account. The GPS seems to measure point to point only.

Also, it paused and restarted in the middle of my run several times which may have also affected measurements.

Otherwise, GOOD PRODUCT!!!

Will we ever get a response from Nike on these questions?
When will the Polar Wearlink heartrate monitor be supported by the iPhone (!) App?
I really like the App especially the visualizations, I just miss the heartrate tracking (still using my Polar watch for that).
The web site is awfully slow most of the time, though.

Being a Canadian, I spend as much time outside as possible, but when it gets cold I will be running on a treadmill. Haveing the option to use my sensor when running on a treadmill and the GPS when outside would be optimal. Can we make this happen?

Mine doesn't work at all. It switches to "Pause" in the middle of the workout. It also has never once mapped the run. It says the signal is low, even though I'm running through town. Not worth it.

FYI, your app isn't available for purchase or search directly from an iDevice, only from a computer's iTunes. If I follow your "get it on itunes" link from my iPad, I just get an error. Apple says they have no intention of fixing the bug.

calibration? Can I upload runs from both to

I just used my App for the first time/run. I found it very easy to use (simple UI display) and very very accurate both route and distance, I calculated less than .1% difference. Still not sure how to "sync" it to this website but working on it. I like how you apparently do not need the battery pod thingy in your shoes. I like the recorded feed back but would rather speak to Lance live :-) My best App yet!

Pissed that I bought the Nike+ Sensor only to find
out after I had used it that I don't need it with the
Nike+GPS. Come on Nike, give all of the details.
Also, why do I have to login to Nikeplus.com
everytime after every run? I should at least
remember me on my device. all said, love the
app, just not Nike for leading me to believe I
needed the sensor.

where u were slow and where u were running
your fastest ! Plus the motivational update rocks...
No extra equip required just u the pavement and
