That’s right, Nike+. We did it! Together, the Nike+ running community has officially reached a new record of 200 million miles. That’s several hundred trips to the moon and back!

We managed to track down the lucky runner who logged the 200 millionth Nike+ mile and she graciously agreed to share a little about herself and the monumental run.

Katie Kinsella (Nike+ username: Katie.Kinsella), is a South African native who grew up in Pittsburgh, but now resides in Stamford, Connecticut. Katie has been a longtime Nike+ member, but she’s appreciating it even more recently. “I had foot surgery a year ago which stopped me from running for a while. I also gained about 20lbs during that time of limited working out.” She continued, “When I was able to, I started running and using the Nike+ to keep me on track; I've lost 15lbs!”

Kinsella logged the 200 millionth mile for the Nike+ community during a lunch run on January 22nd. She commented, “It was a short 25 minute run. I was aiming for 2 miles and came close, but didn’t hit my goal. Definitely next time!”

Katie is aiming to race a 10k this year, but is also motivated by the simple desire to stay active and feeling good. “I'm back to fitting into my size 4 pants, and even those are getting a bit loose!” Congrats Katie and thanks for being a valuable Nike+ member!
While only one lucky runner could sync the big number, one runner alone could not have reached such a monumental mark. So great job to all and keep pushing forward in the new year! Run harder towards your personal goals while keeping your eyes peeled for the next big milestone. At this pace, we’ll be there before you even know it.
