Jonathon Prince, founder of the charity organization "Run 4 Relief," is no ordinary runner. After witnessing the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, Jonathon decided to take action—literally. When comparing his life's troubles to those living in the South, he decided he could not just sit around while others were suffering. So he channeled his energy and passion into running across the country, raising money for his foundation along the way. With the financial support of schools, organizations, large and small businesses and others, Jonathon successfully made it across the country in the summer of 2005.
On August 29th, 2006, Jonathon completed his second run across America, arriving in Times Square in New York City. Before his second cross-country run, Jonathon set up "Team PRINCE," a division solely devoted to promoting awareness about the southern states affected by Hurricane Katrina. This notion of helping others soon grew larger, however, and Team PRINCE also began donating money to the arts and entertainment industry, the science and technology industry and other charities around the world. Jonathon is now currently working on raising funds for his third run, tentatively named "Re-Birth," which he hopes to kick off October 15th of this year. What keeps Jonathon so motivated one may ask? His personal quote sums it up: "When your 'why' is strong enough it makes your 'how' obsolete." Jonathon hopes to encourage people to find their "why" and see it through until the end.
Fortunately for him, Jonathan currently resides in Los Angeles, California where running has its perks. Living in the Hollywood Hills has allowed Jonathon to experiment with many different running terrains. He has trained on beaches, the Pacific Coast Highway, extreme bike routes and parks and canyons, just to name a few. Jonathon's been running for 6 years, completing 20 to 25 miles a week. When he's not running, Jonathon enjoys meeting new people, shopping and working on film and TV projects.
Through his passion, devotion and enthusiasm, Jonathon has achieved incredible feats. His story is truly inspiring and we are honored to share it.
