Back Your Block Grant Program

Attention runners: Nike needs your help to give back! Nike has a new national $650,000 Back Your Block grant program run through our stores across the country. We are investing in local organizations, communities and school groups which aim to unlock the potential of young people through sports. Nike is looking for runners to elevate local organizations that are making a difference in their community through this incredible sport.
"It is more important than ever for corporations and individuals to help out their communities," said Kari Mitchell, Senior Manager for Nike Retail Community Relations. "We are excited to offer a program where anyone can nominate their favorite organizations for a grant and vote on the applicants they feel most passionate about."
Anyone can nominate or vote at www.nikebackyourblock.com. In addition, you can view all of the inspiring applications from local groups which include a focus on running here. Finally, you can also track the program by joining the Back Your Block Fan Page on Facebook.
Nike will be accepting grant applications through August 24, 2009 and voting will continue until September 15, 2009.
