Reason 1: Human Race Definition
According to the "Wiktionary," Human Race is defined as, "mankind, humanity; humankind." Simple. There are no "if, ands or buts." It is all inclusive; no one is left out in this equation. Everyone, everywhere in the world can participate.
Reason 2: Why Not?
You might say, "Why should I run the Human Race?" I will say, "Why should you NOT run the Human Race?" You have absolutely nothing to lose. If you're already a passionate and dedicated runner, this is just another excuse to put in 6.2 miles on 10.24.2009. Perhaps you're already in a different 10K, 1/2 or full marathon that day. Perfect! Now you can do both, as long as you have your Nike+ gear on and sync post-run! AND....if you're not already a passionate and dedicated runner then.....
Reason 3: Running = Commitment to Goal
Running is really just a commitment to a goal. You set goals for yourself everyday. Make running one of them. It might be hard to take that first step, but take it! Set your goal and commit. Your pace and distance on any given day are not what matters. What does matter is that you set it for yourself because you CARE ABOUT YOU and you MAKE THE COMMITMENT to running and thus to your YOURSELF.
Reason 4: Nike SCHWAG
From now until the actual race on 10.24.2009, Nike is giving away tons of cool product (Nike+ shoes, iPhones, Official Human Race Shirts, etc.) On the day of the Nike+ 10K Human Race, IF you are a Pied Piper, I will create EXTRA ways to win Nike+ Product! How can you NOT want to join now?!
Reason 5: "I Love Running."
These are 3 words that you've either NEVER said or just recently started saying. (Side Note: I just started saying them about 1.5 years ago.) Maybe you've just gotten back into exercise, so you're planning to walk or jog the 10K. That's OK. It's one step and then the next. It's logging and syncing one "run" and then the next. Little-by-little and day-by-day and you will find yourself thinking, "I can't wait to head out for a run." And, those 3 little words, "I Love Running" will finally be a part of your vocabulary.
Reason 6: Social Media with Runners
You know them: Facebook, Twitter and Blogging (and obviously many more)! They are the biggest names in Social Media currently. You love engaging with all of your "online friends." But sometimes you just want to socialize online with your "running friends," those who share your passion of running! Welcome to the Nike+ Website.

Most importantly, you will be able to take all of this fun and exciting stuff you do on the Nike+ Social Media site and write about it on your Facebook page, Tweet about it with your Tweeples on Twitter or Blog about your favorite parts/things to do on the site. The bottome line: It's all about being "social," so start by sharing with your network these 7 Reasons why they should join you on 10.24.2009 for the Human Race!
Reason 7: Make it Up (But do it with Passion)
Still not convinced? (As if Unity, No reason, Achieving a Goal, Nike SCHWAG, New (regular) Vocabulary and Fitness Social Media were not enough reasons for you!) Then, make it up! What can you CREATE to MAKE it an amazing 10K for YOU? What can you have as YOUR goal? What will be YOUR motivation to cross YOUR finish line? I find myself saying most mornings, "Let's Make it a Great Day." By that same token, how can you "Make it a Great 10K?" Just know, whatever you make up, I hope it's out of 100% Pure Passion!
I can't wait to see you as a Pied Piper with me on October 24, 2009 for the Nike+ Human Race! I'll be here waiting to hear all of your stories and successes. Perhaps you'll even be able to give me an 8th Reason to Run the Nike+ 10K Human Race!
