Composition_B performs at the Human Race

October 19, 2009

Composition_B is an alternative-atmospheric-rock band conceived in 2008. Comprising of Kenny (vocals, guitar), Weimin (drums) and Nick (bass), these talented blokes write and perform pensive, angst-driven music that is drawing them attention from the local music scene. Influenced heavily from the roots of alternative rock, Composition_B is set to perform at the Nike+ Human Race 10K alongside Taken By Cars (Philippines), Chicosci (Philippines), Estranged (Malaysia), Thaitanum (Thailand), Agrikulture (Indonesia).

Q: Do any of you run? How do you keep fit? Is this how you keep your stamina up during a performance?
A: Yes we run and we keep ourselves fit by eating healthy. Definitely, as we need to set a higher energy level in order to keep our shows lively.

Q: What songs do you listen to while running?
A: Hmmm no songs in particular as long as the groove match well with the running pace. I like Deftones for sure and other hard rocking stuffs.

Q: How many track(s) have your band contributed to the Nike+ Music Project? What do you think about the project and its relevance to runners?
A: Two. Just like music, running is all about rhythm and tempo and that’s how they inter-relate.

Q: How do you want young runners to feel when they run with your music?
A: We hope they will enjoy our groove and it would motivate them to run better.

Q: How different is a day concert versus a night concert for you guys? Especially one that starts at 7am?
A: Well, the lighting backed with the night sky definitely sets a nice glow. Not too sure if the audience would be awake to absorb our kind of loud music. Haha.

Q: This year’s Human Race in Spore has a Guys vs Girls concept where the winning gender represents different charity organizations. Who do you support (World Wildlife Fund or ST School Pocket Money Fund)?
A: As long as it’s for charity, guess we don’t have a preference.

Q: Tell us one thing that most people don’t know about your band?
A: Haha. Well our band is still relevantly new so we don’t expect people to know much about us but we are planning to release our EP early next march.

Q: What goals do you hope to achieve as a band?
A: Hope to write more, to release an album every year and to share our music with people.

Q: 2 tracks that you consider your favorite when you run, or engaged in sport?
A: Head Up by Deftones & Sleep Now In The Fire by Rage Against the Machine.
