the NWM. To receive the information first, check us out at
facebook.com/NWM26.2.
WHEN WILL REGISTRATION OPEN FOR THE 2011 NIKE WOMEN'S MARATHON?
Registration for the 2011 Nike Women's Marathon will once again be held
through a random drawing process. Runners can begin registering for the
random drawing beginning Monday, April 11th at 9am PDT. Registration for
the random drawing will close on Friday, April 22nd at 11:59pm PDT. You
may register at any time during the registration period; registering
early does not improve your change of being selected.
CAN I REGISTER AS PART OF A GROUP?
This year, if you are interested in registering as a group, you can
obtain a Group ID prior to registering in the random drawing. There are
FOUR easy steps:
STEP 1. Designate ONE person in your group to be the group leader
STEP 2. Beginning Monday, March 28th, the group leaders must obtain a Group ID by completing the Group ID application form
STEP 3. Once the Group ID has been obtained, the group leader MUST copy,
paste and send the Group ID to everyone in the group. All group members
need to copy and paste the Group ID to reduce the chances of typos.
STEP 4 Starting April 11th, every member of the group needs to input the
Group ID in the appropriate box on their own random drawing
application. Your Group ID must be entered correctly to be considered.
If your group is selected and you mistyped your Group ID during
registration, you will not be included in that group.
Click HERE to obtain a Group ID.
WHAT IS THE RANDOM DRAWING PROCEDURE?
Participants must apply online through nikemarathon.com between Monday,
April 11th and Friday, April 22nd to qualify for the random drawing.
Only one application will be allowed per person and duplicate
applications will be removed prior to the random drawing. Names will be
drawn by a randomized and automatic computer program. If your name is
selected, we will attempt to process your payment. Only runners whose
payments are successful will be offered a place in the race.. Once
credit card payment has been verified, accepted participants will be
notified via email in late April. . Applicants not selected in the
random drawing will also receive an email in late April notifying them
of their status.
WHAT IS THE FEE TO RACE THE HALF OR FULL MARATHON?
Half Marathon: $130
Full Marathon: $150
WHY ARE YOU UTILIZING A RANDOM DRAWING?
The Nike Women's Marathon has become a sellout event. Due to the high
demand for registration, we believe a random drawing format makes
registration fair for all interested participants.
HOW CAN I VERIFY THAT I AM OFFICIALLY REGISTERED FOR THE RACE?
You can visit the searchable database at www.signmeup.com/nwmresults.
Please remember that the searchable database updates ever 24 hours. If
you cannot find your name, make sure you have entered your information
correctly in the query fields. If you still cannot find the
registration, please email nwm@signmeup.com or call us at
1-866-RUN-NIKE.
WILL I RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION OF MY APPLICATION IN THE RANDOM DRAWING?
You will not receive an email confirming your application into the
random drawing. Instead, you will see a screen at the end of the
application process confirming your successful entry. Twenty-four hours
after registering in the random drawing, you can visit the searchable
database at www.signmeup.com/nwmresults
to verify your application status. You will receive an email in late
April indicating your status as a 2011 Nike Women's Marathon
participant.
WILL THERE BE AN ELITE DIVISION?
The Nike Women's Marathon will not provide an early, elite start. In
accordance with USATF rules, overall winners will be determined based on
gun time. Therefore, female runners who would like to compete for the
top three spots should plan to line-up as close to the starting line as
possible.
AM I GUARANTEED ADMISSION INTO THE 2011 NIKE WOMEN’S MARATHON IF I PARTICIPATED IN THE 2010 NIKE+ RACE DAY CHALLENGE?
Participation in the 2010 Nike+ Race Day Challenge does NOT guarantee
automatic entry into the 2011 Nike Women’s Marathon. Please enter the
random drawing on April 11th for a chance to race in 2011.
2011 NIKE WOMEN’S MARAHTON AND HALF MARATHON APPLICATION PROCESS
WHO MAY APPLY?
Any men or women who are eighteen (18) or older as of April 4, 2011 may apply to participate in the NIKE Women’s Marathon and Half Marathon. Any runner under the age of 18 will need their parent or guardian to sign for them.
HOW DO I APPLY?
CLICK HERE between 9:00 am (PST) on April 11, 2011 and 11:59 pm (PST) on April 22, 2011, for the link to the 2011 registration page hosted by SignMeUp.com. As part of the application process, you will be required to provide a credit card number and accept the specified fees. Limit one entry per person regardless of method of entry. Multiple entries submitted by a single entrant are void and may be grounds for complete removal from the Random Drawing. Please note that your credit card will not be charged unless you are selected to participate in the Marathon.
WHEN ARE RUNNERS SELECTED?
At the end of April, 2011 NIKE will randomly select 12,000 applicants to run in the Marathon or Half Marathon. If you are selected, you will receive an e-mail from NIKE notifying you of your selection on or about May 6, 2011. AWARDS
WHAT PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED AND IN WHAT CATEGORIES?
The Nike Women's Marathon will recognize and award the top three female runners to cross the finish line in both the full and half marathons. These overall winners will be determined solely by the order in which they cross the finish line, as opposed to chip times. Therefore, female runners who would like to compete for the top three spots should plan to line-up as close to the starting line as possible. This is an open race and there will not be separate start times or a designated "elite" pack.
In addition to the first, second, and third place winners, the Nike Women's Marathon will recognize the top male and female finishers in each age group. Chip-time will be used to establish age group winners and awards will be mailed within 2 weeks.

WHAT IS TEAM IN TRAINING?
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training (TNT) is the world's leading endurance sports charity training program. Participants raise funds to support lifesaving cancer research. In return, they receive personalized training from certified coaches, training clinics, and the support and camaraderie of a team. Participants can choose from more than 200 exciting endurance events in the U.S. and abroad. A key element of the TNT experience is training in honor of a local blood cancer survivor whose courage provides motivation and inspiration. And now there is TNT Flex, a customized, online training option developed by TNT's renowned coaches. To learn more about TNT or to attend an informational meeting in your area, visit teamintraining.org or call 1.800.482.TEAM.

HOW MUCH MONEY HAS TEAM IN TRAINING RAISED OVER THE YEARS?

IS TEAM IN TRAINING TARGETED TO ANY PARTICULAR LEVEL?
People of all ages - from novices to seasoned athletes - participate in Team In Training. Novice athletes succeed in the program with the help of personalized coaching as well as a supportive and friendly team environment. Everyone participates in honor of a patient, which provides a strong motivation to succeed.

WHEN ARE RUNNERS SELECTED?
At the end of April, 2011 NIKE will randomly select 12,000 applicants to run in the Marathon or Half Marathon.
