In addition to Nike+ Active there are two other ways to get motivated to exercise using Nike+ technology: Nike+ iPod and Nike+ Gym.
Nike+ iPod

Nike+ iPod works much like Nike+ Active, but is geared toward running rather than walking. It uses a sensor inserted into your Nike shoe to track time, pace, calories burned and distance using either the iPod nano or the 2nd generation iPod touch. After your run, simply sync up either device to your computer and you’ll be able to check out your most recent run in graph form or track your progress.
To use Nike+ with an iPod nano, you’'ll need to purchase a Nike+ Sport Kit which contains both a sensor and receiver. The sensor should be placed underneath the insert of your Nike+ enabled running shoes and the receiver should be plugged into your iPod nano. You will also need to purchase the Nike + Sport Kit if you use the Nike+ iPod WatchRemote with your iPod. The 2nd generation iPod touch features a built-in receiver so to make Nike+ run, all you need to do is purchase a Nike+ Sensor. To find out more about Nike+ iPod, visit

Nike+ Gym
Nike+ Gym is yet another way to track your progress, even if that progress is made without covering any distance. Simply go to a participating Gym, such as 24 Hour Fitness, hop onto a Nike+ enabled stationary bike, stair climber, elliptical machine, treadmill or other machine and plug in your iPod Nano or iPod Touch. The machine charges your device while recording your workout. When you're done, just sync your device to upload your workout to nikeplus.com and see how you did.
It works by using a universal workout measurement that's easy to compare from exercise to exercise: the calorie. Because the standard runner burns about 100 calories per mile, Nike+ turns every 100 calories you burn into one CardioMile.
So now you can compare one workout to another, regardless of what machine you're on.
