After the unveiling of the new national team kits last week, Brazilian players across the globe put in some scintillating performances over the weekend.

Alexandre Pato’s double guided the Rossoneri to victory to keep the pressure on the league leaders while, on the blue side of Milan, Maicon’s dynamic performance galvanised the Serie A champions; his equaliser sending Inter on their way to a crucial 3-2 away win to maintain their four point lead.

It was another roaming full back, Dani Alves who put in the hard yards to inspire Barcelona to victory, and send the champions back to the top of La Liga; his telling assist making the difference in a tight game at the Nou Camp as Barca prevailed 2-1.

Players and managers talk about playing for the shirt, and with the (RED) friendly against the Republic of Ireland on March 3rd looming, it’s all about national pride this week.
