The players couldn't wait to get their hands on the new boot and see how their recommendations had been used in the design.

Dejan loved the colourway, Rino thought the boot was a beauty and Sulley simply asked: "Where do you guys get your ideas from?" before adding "it's really cool, great job".

After a day in Barcelona dropping the boots off with Rafa, Yaya and Dani, the insider made the trip to Madrid to make sure Cristiano had his pair to dominate in South Africa.

The insider discussed with the players how their role in the elite series design had worked towards the boot they were holding.

Rafa was looking forward to trying the boot out, Dani Alves was a fan of the new colourway and Yaya had just two words: "c'est magnifique".

This morning the Brazilian National Team had its first practice session with the ball. In a reduced size field the athletes worked on ball control and skill in a "two touch" training session, during which the 14 athletes we sponsor wore boots from the Nike Elite Series pack, designed especially for the World Championship.

Soon after the training, they received the support of some very special fans. A group of hearing impaired children was able to come close and express their affection for the players in yellow, who warmly returned the gesture.

During the breaks of the morning and afternoon training sessions, Nilmar and Gilberto attended the traditional press conference. Nilmar stressed the importance of training. "I've gained much recognition in the National Team thanks to the training I've been doing since last year" he stated. When questioned by an Argentinean reporter, he teased saying that our neighbors should be more concerned with Brazil than the other way around.

In his comments, Gilberto spoke of how the experience of the group of players can help the National Team in the battle for the sixth world title.

Tomorrow the Brazilian National Team leaves for South Africa. Stay tuned to ourFacebook pages to get information and pictures of the team boarding for the trip.

Preparing The Elite: London and Manchester

For the first stop on the Elite Series tour, the Nike Insider headed back to London and Manchester to give Rooney, Evra, Essien, Walcott and Drogba the first glimpse of the Elite Series.

The insider sat down with the players to show how their input, feedback and testing contributed to the boot that will storm South Africa.

The Total Orange colourway caught Didier's eye; Wayne and Patrick liked the idea of taking weight out of the boot, and Michael summed up the Elite Series pretty enthusiastically: "for me, it's perfect".

When you’re young, you think you can take on the world – sometimes you’re right.

With his team 2-0 down to Juventus, Marek Hamsik decided enough was enough.

On 58 minutes, he slotted in at the far post to ignite the comeback. But that was just the beginning.

Less than 10 minutes to go, 2-2. Marek ran onto a perfectly cushioned ball and lashed a shot into the top corner for all three points.

Just wait until he’s unleashed in South Africa next year.

Super Mario smashes it

For the man they call Super Mario, it happened in just 48 minutes. Last night, Balotelli scored two, created one and won the penalty for another. He even had to be dragged away from taking the spot kick by the regular penalty taker. Balotelli is not lacking confidence.
