With a 2-1 victory, Corinthians reaches 10 points and is the sole leader in its group in the Libertadores Cup. The more than 30 thousand faithful fans who watched the match at the Pacaembu stadium are overjoyed, as are millions across Brazil and abroad.
But tonight's match was celebrated also for another reason. Corinthians lent all its prestige and popularity to help publicize our Lace Up Save Lives campaign, helping fight AIDS/HIV, tuberculosis and malaria in Africa.
Anyone can join in, regardless of who they root for, as this cause is larger than team colors. Just get a (NIKE) RED lace at any Nike Store. All sales profits are dedicated to fighting the spread of these diseases by distributing medication and financing awareness campaigns. The more people participate, the better!
