Last night the Socceroos had an emphatic 2-0 win over Uzbekistan in Sydney, putting them one point away from qualification for South Africa 2010. Four years ago it was a different story. Qualification went down to the wire. No one will have forgotten that night in Sydney when qualifying was decided on penalties.
