1-on-1: Kobe vs. LeBron for the last shot
06 October 2009
Better.
The more attractive or favorable of the two. More advantageous or effective between peers. Higher accuracy or overall performance when measured against one another.
But how do you measure it? Is the answer in the stats?
One of these guys grabs a couple more rebounds, dishes out a couple more assists and averages a couple more points per game. They both won big in the 2008-2009 regular season, separated by just a single win. But one of them won just a little bit bigger.
Translation: 1 NBA Championship.
The jersey numbers?
23: 24.
The handsomeness of their respective puppets?
The better alias? King; Mamba.
Doesn't matter.
Look, there's 82 games in a season. Each one's 48 minutes long. And eight other guys have something to do with almost every single trip down the floor. So we're not going to make this easy on you and simply toss out a weak little "who's better" question.
We're getting down to the finer points of hoop.
And if you're keen on the clues listed above, you already know it's Kobe vs. LeBron in the first round of 1-on-1.
In one corner you've got LeBron's uncanny knack for breaking down the opposing team's defensive scheme paired with complete unselfishness.
Send two or three dudes to cut off his driving angle and not only does he have the magical court vision to find the open man, he completely trusts his teammates to knock down game-winning shots.
Doesn't hurt that kid's 6'8" 250 - and even sending three might not be enough. Or that he's improved his midrange J and long distance game to the point that even playoff pressure no longer stands in his way when drilling a 28-footer for the win is called for.
In the other corner you've got Kobe's unparalleled killer instinct.
Send the whole damn team after him and he's still going to find a way to bury you. He's got the unblockable baseline fadeaway, a feathery, old-school window game and that lightning rod laser from deep.
And even after more than a decade of ripping out his opponent's heart come winning time, Kobe still has the bounce to turn 7-footers into posters.
The question:
Down a bucket. 15 seconds left on the clock. Coach just spent the last minute hyperventilating over a dry erase board, mocking up the last shot.
Kobe. LeBron.
Who would you want to take it?

The Black Mamba..Kobe Bryant..The Best Finisher in the Game today..
He isn't called Lord of the Rings for nothing..
yes Lebron is the more superior athlete because of his size, but Kobe have a much more understanding in this game than him.

man who has proven theres no challenge too big,
give em whatever squad you want (he'll work wit
it) give em the young, the old, give him sh*t,
compare him to the "latest", do what it is that
makes you feel better as for me,
& as for the greatest coach ever (my opinion) P
JACKSON were gonna go ahead n keep the ball
in KB's hands so yea James yu can keep Sherrif
Shaq, yu need em we dont.... as you can see =)...

present 4 rings that can't be argued... Any one
remember 05 keane Brien at the line to tie it up
misses the free throw comes off the rim hard to
Kobe get to the baseline and drains the 3 to end it
Lebrun ain't had a moment like that yet his time
will come but right now ya gotta take Kobe ... #5
coming this year you already know

??"- Dan A24. Are you kidding me? just because
he doesn't have a ring doesn't mean he isn't one
of the best in the league. I would still take Kobe
based on experience and I think he is better from
3 point range. But come on, Michael Jordan took
five years to win his championship. Lebron will in
time i would say.

2 years, 4 months ago
Both of them are great players... Lebron is a rising legend...and Kobe on his way on becoming one...
But as for the question... No doubt, Kobe is more experience when it comes to last second shot.
Lebron needs work with his mid jumper, and 3pt field goal.

complete, the most cold blooded, the most skilled
is KB24. Outside, inside, dribbling, creating. He
has so many weapons. Lebron? The guy's 6'8
and 270 pounds! He's like: Gimme the ball and
I'll go for the drive. So predictable. Yaaaawwn

Kobe will hurt other players on purpose; Lebron will only hurt you if you're too stupid to get out of his way.
Kobe has killer instinct and unbridled ambition;Lebron is a phenomenon,AND,he's got heart,AND he's got soul.
LEBRON,LEBRON,LEBRON-win or lose-take that LAST shot, baby! Because Cleveland Rocks and we will always love LBJ-whether we win him or lose him. MVP NBA FOREVER in my heart!
