Livestrong and the Lance Armstrong Foundation hit the roads early by kicking off Stages 7 and 8 of the Tour de France with a yellow bang. The “Open Roads” chalking event took to the streets of Barcelona before the race’s start during several cycling activities that took place the weekend before. Chalk boxes were handed out encouraging passersby to draw their own messages of hope on the pavement and cheer cards were given out for people to hold as cyclists passed.
