AMERICAN CENTURY CHAMPIONSHIP TO BENEFIT LIVESTRONG AND LAF

American Century Investments will be supporting the Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF) for its fourth year in a row at the 2009 American Century Championship, July 14-19. The 54-hole tournament has been played at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course since its inception in 1990.

This year’s high-profile celebrity golf event coincides with Lance Armstrong’s return to cycling and will call attention to the worldwide cancer epidemic that claims eight million lives each year. The 2009 tournament will help build awareness for the LIVESTRONG Global Cancer Campaign and raise funds for the LAF.

Supporting Lance Armstrong and the LAF is a natural fit for American Century Investments. Founder Jim Stowers Jr. and his wife, Virginia, both cancer survivors, established the Stowers Institute for Medical Research, to identify more effective means of preventing, treating and curing diseases.
