Lance Armstrong is back on his bike to spread the LIVESTRONG message of hope and to raise global awareness of cancer. Nike 6.0 BMX riders Dennis Enarson, Garrett Reynolds, and Mike Spinner supported Lance and his LIVESTRONG message at the Nike 6.0 BMX Open Dew Tour stop in Chicago, the highest viewed action sports tour in the world.
“The words LIVESTRONG mean something different for everyone. For me, it’s about doing what I love, persevering, and being the best I can be. I have a lot of respect for Lance, battling cancer to the end and now riding again to spread his message. That’s insane. Mad respect,” said BMX rider, Garrett Reynolds, who placed 2nd in the Dew Tour Park finals on Saturday, June 27th amongst thousands of fans in Chicago’s Grant Park.
Lance is committed to getting on his bike again to compete in the Tour de France with the message of hope, beginning July 4th, and he’s asking people around the world to get involved. The Nike 6.0 riders, as well as other global Nike athletes, are joining forces to support LIVESTRONG this summer by wearing yellow to raise awareness, fund research and end the stigma against cancer that many survivors face. LIVESTRONG-inspired Nike 6.0 Converge shoes were created for the BMX team, and thousands of fans were encouraged to sport the iconic LIVESTRONG wristband.
Since 2004, Nike has helped the Lance Armstrong Foundation raise millions to help fight cancer. Nike 6.0 represents a new generation of action sports athletes who are changing the worlds of surf, snow, moto, BMX, wake and freeski.
