Thanks to Hudson River Park, you have an excuse to escape the daily grind of day-to-day life in New York City. Starting in July, there will be free movie screenings on the Hudson River Piers. Every Wednesday is dedicated to adults while every Friday is dedicated to kids. All the movies begin at sundown (8 - 8:30pm) and include free popcorn with additional snacks and beverages available for purchase.

As a special bonus, all of this year's Wednesday Night movies are focused on music and NIKE is sponsoring the movie on Wednesday, July 16th. The movie that evening will be Almost Famous starring Patrick Fugit, Billy Crudup, Kate Hudson, and Jason Lee.

In conjunction with the July 16th film, RUN NYC is holding a River Flicks Run along the West Side Highway prior to the movie. There will be two options - a 3 mile run and a 6 mile run - leaving at 6:30pm from Pier 54 at 14th Street and heading toward the Runners' Station, RUN NYC's premiere West Side information center, located at Harrison Street along the West Side Highway. Free bag check and water will be provided for all runners. With availability limited, make sure to RSVP to news@runnyc.org to secure your running spot and VIP seating.

The River Flicks Run is a great opportunity to get a run in before watching the movie.
