That’s the goal on 8.31.2008, when people in 25 cities—or anywhere using Nike+—will connect simultaneously in a 10K road race. Waiting at the finish line in each city will be live music acts to celebrate each and every individuals’ participation in the first ever Nike+ Human Race 10K, the largest global running event ever.
There are two ways to run the Nike+ Human Race on 8.31.2008:
1. Join fellow runners in one of 25 cities hosting the 10K races worldwide.
2. Run anywhere using your Nike+, and sync your run by the end of the day.
The Nike+ Human Race in NYC
New York City is one of the 25 cities that Nike has chosen for the Nike+ Human Race 10K on 8.31.08 to reach its goal of 1 million runners. Nike’s Big Apple running program, RUN NYC, is calling on all members of the NYC running community to join today.
The Nike+ Human Race is being organized to raise money and awareness for three global charities: ninemillion.org, World Wildlife Foundation and the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
To register for the race click here. If you can’t make it to NYC, you can still participate. No matter your location, with your Nike+ Sport Kit or Nike+ SportBand, you can register and sync your race at nikeplus.com, the official destination for the Nike+ Human Race.
For those who can make it to New York City, the Nike+ Human Race 10K will take place on Randall’s Island and finish inside Icahn Stadium for a live concert.
Prior to race day, RUN NYC will help you train for the 6.2 mile race with six training runs a week at four different locations in and around Manhattan and Brooklyn. For complete information on RUN NYC’s training runs, visit the RUN NYC Facebook page.
