OK GO and Nike rocked Hollywood! The Nike+ HUMAN RACE 10K kick-off event on Wednesday July 23rd in LA was a huge success! The Montalbán Theater was draped in red velvet and lit like a full on rock show from all sides. The street was shut down and used as a stage for the night. Before the concert, runners could register for the Nike+ HUMAN RACE 10K at one of many online stations. The first 200 people attending the kick-off party got a free Nike+ HUMAN RACE T-shirt. Various raffle winners went home with big smiles on their faces, because they won brand new Nike+ gear! The grand prize was raffled off right before the concert. One lucky winner won a trip for two aboard the Nike+ HUMAN RACE 10K plane fueled by Air New Zealand, to run two races on 8/31/08 both in Australia and Los Angeles! After the raffle, the band OK GO knocked the crowd off their feet with their smash hit performance “Here It Goes Again” on top of the theater marquee which was accompanied by an amazing treadmill dance routine, but this time there were 20 dancers on 20 treadmills, choreographed by Kevan Allen. After the impromptu show the crowd dressed in their red “Where Will You Be on 8.31.08?” shirts buzzed about the upcoming Nike+ HUMAN RACE 10K.
