Nike+ Human Race Runners
Who are these retro looking freaks with 70’s haircuts, running the 5K Race in Playa Del Rey? Why are they wearing tight red spandex body suites and knee-high socks? Turns out these pubescent males call themselves the “Nike+ Human Race Runners” and are training for the Nike+ Human Race 10K, on 8.31.08 in LA.
Their hyper activity, strange looks and unconventional practices, make them the center of attention wherever they go. More than running, they practice a physical exercise called group stretching, in which a skeletal muscle or group of muscles are deliberately elongated to their fullest length. They say that stretching in a group promotes a team feeling. Furthermore it enhances muscle control, flexibility and ultimately increases their performance. Everywhere
