Aaron Peirsol just shot the ceremonial “ready, set, go” horn!
Lined up in the central vein of the Capital of Texas, Congress Avenue, racers head to the finish line. It’s an awesome sight with Lance Armstrong at the starting line in his bright yellow LIVESTRONG t-shirt amongst a sea of red. All the other runners are outfitted in Nike’s unique red race-day t-shirts showing their race number, as opposed to the traditional pin-on bibs.
It’s amazing to see 13,800 runners lined up, making history here in Austin and committing themselves to the Nike+ Human Race 10K, even though the temperature is well above 94 degrees.
Will Lance score close to the elites? That’s what we hear.
