[Julio] + [Nike+ iPod Kit] = BFF!
Before I begin this post, a disclaimer: I’m a TOTAL Nike head. I’m a sucker for kicks, with basement shelves overflowing with Dunks, Jordans, AF1s, Stabs, Air Max 90s, etc…
Also: I wear DriFIT gear not only on runs, for pickup soccer, and at yoga, but when I’m just lounging around the house (the material breathes AND it’s super comfortable).
So maybe, being one with the Swoosh, I’m not the most objective person, but shoot, Nike is killing me all over again with the Nike+ iPod dealy.
After running with the thing once over the weekend, I can’t fathom running without it again.
I stuffed the little pedometer-style transmitter device into the groove under the insole of my Air Pegasus, then left the house and took off on a 6k distance. How did I know it was 6k, exactly? Because the little guy in my shoe said so!
After each kilometer, a coach’s voice spoke up over the track I was listening to and let me know the distance covered. It also recorded the run time, noted that it was a personal best, and hit me with a calories-burned total.
It’s like running on a fancy treadmill-of-the-future…outside!
How does it work? Probably by way of complicated science.
But whatevs, I’m happy enough believing it’s magic.
