Nike is commited to supporting communities affected by natural disaster through the work of NGOs in the initial rescue and recovery stages; and partnering on programs that enable communities to be rebuilt.

Nike is donating $500,000 to organizations that offer innovative solutions to support Haitians as they rebuild their communities following the earthquake.

Our two partners in this effort are:

1. Mercy Corps
Mercy Corps has been meeting the urgent needs of survivors for clean water, food, shelter and other emergency materials

Its longer-term task will be to enable Haitians to transition from receiving aid to rebuilding their communities.

2. Architecture for Humanity
Architecture for Humanity is calling on architects to volunteer their talent in the re-building of Haiti's communities. It will set up Community Resource Centers to supply architecture and building services to community groups, NGOs and social entrepreneurs on the ground.

Architecture for Humanity will design and develop community and civic structures for locally-based community partners, focusing on educational facilities.
